Holistic Shamanic Practitioner Program
For Energy Healers, Health Care Practitioners and Spiritual Seekers ready to deepen their practice, expand their gifts and tools, and serve their clients, the collective and the Earth with greater confidence, connection and skill.
Through Contemporary Shamanism and Cross-Cultural Energy Medicine, rooted in indigenous and ancestral wisdom with permission and respect.
A Foundational Program in Contemporary Shamanism, and Cross-Cultural Energy Medicine
Something is calling you deeper.
You're a Reiki practitioner, bodyworker, nurse, yoga teacher, or holistic health practitioner — you know this work is real, and you feel a deeper spiritual calling to be of service. You're already sensitive to energy — you feel things others don't, you sense presences, you pick up on what your clients are carrying energetically.
But you may not always know what you're sensing, who is with you, or how to work with these connections safely and skillfully. You're not sure how to reliably identify your spirit guides, angels, ancestors and allies, or how to work with them to support healing for yourself and others.
You are sensing complex energies attached to your clients — and not sure how to safely clear them — without absorbing them yourself.
You may even feel a calling toward Shamanism — but you want to approach it the right way honoring your own ancestry, spiritual traditions and the land where you live. With integrity, with respect, and with proper guidance rather than cobbling something together on your own. You feel a deep connection to nature and the earth, and you're drawn to power animals, plant spirits, and the spirits of the land around you.
Your clients are bringing you grief, loss, burnout, trauma, and fear in these uncertain times. You want to meet them at the spiritual and energetic root of what they're carrying, not just the surface.
This program is where that calling leads.

Now enrolling for October 2026 — space is limited to 15 students.
For Reiki practitioners, bodyworkers, nurses, counselors, yoga teachers and holistic health practitioners.
This program meets one Saturday per month for 13 months, 10am–5pm, in person in New Milford CT and via Zoom with recordings.
Yes, it's a meaningful time commitment — and intentionally so. Real integration takes time. Students consistently tell us the monthly rhythm and community became something they genuinely looked forward to and leaned on throughout the year.
All indigenous teachings are shared with permission and respect. A portion of every tuition payment is donated to the Q'ero of Peru, Amazon preservation, World Central Kitchen, and American Forests in honor of sacred reciprocity.
This program is taught by Deana Paqua, MA, LMT — a practitioner and teacher of Cross-Cultural Energy Medicine and Contemporary Shamanism with over 28 years of experience, trained directly by Q'ero elders of Peru, Tibetan Buddhist teachers, and indigenous teachers from North and South America. She has also had the honor of working as an Adjunct Professor at WCSU in Danbury, CT for over ten years. Read more about Deana below or on the About Page.

"[What I liked most about this program...] the safe nurturing foundation created by the instructor. Fantastic course!” VB, Danbury, CT

Walking this path with empowerment and respect
This is not a program to train one to become a "Shaman." The path of the Shaman is a lifelong calling — a title of honor bestowed by the community for practitioners of a very specific type of healing work rooted in particular Siberian cultures.
The word Shaman comes from the Evenki/Tungus people of Siberia. Today the terms "shaman" and "shamanism" are used broadly to describe many forms of animistic and spiritual healing. One way to avoid cultural appropriation is to leave traditional titles where they rightfully belong — with their cultures of origin. In this course we honor that distinction.
Contemporary Shamanism is a practice that can benefit anyone and be developed with dedication, humility, and respect. The animistic path of healing spans a lifetime, and in many ways we are all beginners.
Learning with permission and respect
The teachings of many ancestral and indigenous traditions are animistic and mystical — not necessarily Shamanic. Not all traditions are open to sharing with outsiders. The Q'ero of Peru have generously offered their teachings to the wider world because they believe, given this time of great change, that humanity needs to restore its sacred relationship with Pachamama, our ancestors, and each other.
They call Westerners who carry and share their teachings in their own communities Chakruna — bridge people.
Many North American traditions, given what they have endured at the hands of colonialism and white supremacy, have not extended this invitation. In this course we honor those boundaries completely. We only work with teachings given with explicit permission, and we actively engage questions of ethics, personal responsibility, and cultural respect as part of the curriculum.
The deeper invitation of this program is not to accumulate techniques — it is to develop your own unique medicine, rooted in your personal spirit relationships, your ancestry, and the land where you live.
In many ways, we are all beginners on this path.
